A colouful touch with Hardie® Plank exterior cladding on 'Hope Rise' Bristol City Council

Award winning design and build contractors ZED PODs Ltd specified Hardie® Plank fibre cement cladding on UK's first 100% affordable zero-carbon social rent scheme, Hope Rise Bristol.
The partnership between ZED PODS and the Bristol City Council, supported by the Bristol Housing Festival and YMCA, brought together high quality afforable homes with all the advantages of Modern Methods of Construction.  The new scheme was built on the council-owned car park on Chalks Road, within St. George District of Bristol, and offers 11 zero-carbon modern design apartments for vulnerable young people working towards independent living. 

The main building materials were chosen with energy efficiency and fire safety as the key drivers to steer design. 

"Hardie® Plank cladding was carefully chosen with regards of minimising fabric replacement and easy maintenance regime, the products have life expectancy of over 60 years and come with a 15 year warranty" said Lalit Chauhan, Design Director of ZED PODS.
